There are 6 figures represented on the walls and floor of the installation, Florescence. Some immediately identifiable and others camouflaged with their surroundings. Hiding in plain sight. This is true of our many inner parts, there are parts of self that are rarely interacted with consciously or might have been long ago exiled.
Sometimes shame can become the front or clothing presented to the world, while other times it’s deeply buried, too unbearable to reconnect with.
Shame leads to isolation and disconnection from self-love and compassion, but the organic nature of Love is always near, knocking on the door, seeping in through the cracks, and ever ready to transfigure.
As flowers bloom in the underground of Shame, these fragmented parts of self are transformed and given a new identity of beauty.
